French Naval Academy (Ecole Navale)
The French Naval Academy (Ecole navale) is in charge of the education of the officers of the French Navy. While the main objective of the school is to train French cadets, Ecole navale develops an important research activity oriented to the maritime and naval environments. The Naval Academy Research Institute (IRENav) is nationally recognised as a research center, part of the national networks of the “Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers” (Arts et Métiers ParisTech). The main subjects covered are oriented towards mechanics and energy in naval environments, maritime information modeling and processing, naval cyber security. Research at the IRENav is developed close relation with the naval industry and with many international academic and industrial partners.
