Second Secure Societies by European Research Executive Agency

We are delighted to announce that ISOLA project participated in the second Secure Societies “project to policy kick off seminar” (P2PKOS) that took place virtually on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 March 2021, which was organized by European Research Executive Agency.
The main objective of this seminar was to highlight the European Commission developing policies linked to security aspects (e.g. DG ECHO, HOME, ENV, SANTE, ENER, TAXUD etc.) and improve their interaction with research projects that are working on these pillars. The research projects that participated were funded under the Secure Societies call 2019 and the goal was to ensure that relevant policy drivers are understood and possibly integrated from the early phase of the project. In this way, the policy relevant results from your projects would be communicated effectively and timely. In addition, it was also a very good opportunity for similar projects to acquaint the other projects with similar research goals and possible create synergies. During this two-day meeting, representatives from 43 H2020 projects working on security domain participated.
ISOLA’s coordinator (AIRBUS) and Scientific & Technical Manager (CERTH) presented the related policy frameworks, which are induced by International Maritime Organization (IMO), International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) and relevant state and member, state agencies (DG MARE, DG MOVE, EMSA, Ministries of Maritime and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs)). Furthermore, the project’s challenge, objectives, approach, expected results and the participation of the end-users were briefly analyzed.
